No he hasn't really got a point. I cycle that route every week and that barrier has been in place for at least 10 years that I know of. Yes it's annoying but it is not impassable by any means. All it needs is some thought and a little bit of work. And if it prevents the locals arses riding their motorcycles through the newly created nature reserve to the left of the picture then all the better.
