I think 'Ray' would have opted for a poisoned dart, had he planned to spike her.
There is a legal requirement for credible motive, of course, so I can see where the judge was coming from. He really should tie up his judicial robes better.
I love a tall story, & that one is stratospheric. Her lawyer must be keeping a very low profile right now...
