These Australian articles always make me wish my crappy local paper would adopt a similar style. I particularly liked:

“It would soon be open slather for other animal husbanders.”

though I have no idea what it means.

"Open slather" 'Slather' is a verb meaning: To apply liberally. e.g. To slather on the suntan cream.

This is worth watching although it's not for the squeamish or screamist: http://www.neatorama.com/2007/01/30/worlds-worst-mouse-plague-millions-of-mice-attack-australia/
