I'd give her Southend a wide berth.
201 comments ! She seems to have hit a nerve. As an ex-councillor and local restaurant owner she seems to have a vested interest as well as some percieved responsibility for the situation, which doesn't exactly endear her to many. It seems that most towns, including mine, have people like this who just can't stop trying to get their opinions broadcast. Local newspapers, as they are well aware, just lap this stuff up.
I thought Barry Humphries had retired ...
