I'm disappointed that Councillor Heather Timms (portfolio holder for the sustainable environment), advocates using plastic bags to cleanup after the dogs. If she was fair dinkum she would be getting people to use their "green" reusable hemp shopping bags. You know it makes sense.
You can actually get bio-degradable bags to pick up the dog poo in so it is enviromentaly friendly. There are some great pet poop scoops on the market as well so there are no excuses not to clean up after your pet.
